ARM says hospitals fitting its new HTM-compliant wireless nurse call units will benefit from fast installation, “with minimal dust and disruption to the ward”, while stressing that such radio-based equipment offers “unlimited flexibility to modify and extend a system”
The company explained: “Traditionally, the failure of an old hard-wired nurse call system has meant lengthy delays and expensive ward closures while replacement cables are run. Now, with our new HTM-compliant wireless nurse call units, a new or replacement system can be installed with the minimum of disruption and cost.” ARM’s call points include a patient call point with emergency pull switch for use in general wards, and a cardiac call point with blue cardiac pull switch for intensive care settings. The company’s IP67-rated patient handset, meanwhile, is easily cleanable using alcohol wipes or immersion in disinfectant solution, and features both a call reassurance LED, and a light-sensitive backlight which automatically illuminates in low light. Dementia care and assistive technology devices can also easily be added.
