Lighting’s royal recognition

Brandon Medical will showcase its HDLED medical lighting products, including its new surgical light, Astramax HD-LED, which incorporates its “cutting edge” HD-LED technology, recently awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation Category 2011.

The system was developed “to bridge the gap between the biggest operating theatre lights and smaller minor operating lights”. Peter North, design engineer, and creator of Astramax, said: “The goal was to develop a surgical light for use in both primary and secondary care settings. Astramax LED projects a light intensity of 130,000 Lux, enabling it to compete with some of the largest operating lights. However, it is small, elegant, and lightweight, making it perfectly suited to minor procedures also.” Brandon also supplies medical audio-visual, medical architectural, and medical control and power systems.
