Sheffield-based Anchor Magnetics says its Warmroom magnetic foil system, which can be easily attached to the back of radiators “in seconds”, reduces the amount of heat escaping through walls by up to 60 per cent.
At just 1 mm thick, Warmroom is “invisible once in place”, and, thanks to its special laminated foil, will “instantly reduce” the wall temperature behind the radiator. In tests conducted by the University of Sheffield, the temperature of an uninsulated brick wall behind a hot radiator was recorded at 45°C. After fitting Warmroom panels to the back, the wall temperature dropped to 25°C. Mike Burton, Anchor Magnets’ sales director, and the product’s inventor, said: “The colder it is outside, the better the product works, and it is really effective in preventing heat loss in any building heated by steel radiators mounted on outside walls.” Packs of Warmroom contain six 500 mm x 200 mm sheets.
