Sealwise WCB is a new type of ‘incredibly tough, waterprooffor- life’ board, which ‘looks like top-of-the range melaminefaced plywood or faced MDF, but which is actually made of PVC’, and can be supplied with fully integrated antibacterial properties.
The board is reportedly easy-to-install, and ‘ideal’ for construction of furniture for decontamination suites, sluice rooms, kitchens and wetrooms, where Sealwise says the prevailing ‘tough, wet, and often hot’ environments ‘rapidly condemn wood and fibre-based boards to decay’. With smooth, clean surfaces, and an expanded PVC core for lightness and rigidity, Sealwise Waterproof Construction Board should ‘last indefinitely’, and, in anti-bacterial form, provides ‘greater than 97% effectiveness’ against bacteria such as E. coli, Clostridium difficile and MRSA. Other common applications include wall cladding and partitions. Easy to wipe down, the material can be deep-cleaned with proprietary cleaners, while its humidity and moisture resistance make it ‘perfect’ for surgical and decontamination environments.
